What is the personal story of C.K. Remodeling & Design?

In 2010, C.K. Remodeling & Design was founded and launched into the Pittsburgh marketplace by Charles Kirby (Owner) and William Lieb (Business Coach-Consultant and Marketing Manager). Charles studied Architectural Design at Arizona State University and is a master carpenter with over 25 years of residential contracting experience. William earned his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and has previously assisted with the startup of several other small businesses. The professional backgrounds of the two founders serve them well in their distinct roles of the company. Charles spends the majority of his time in the field working on the execution of projects, while William advises on best business practices and manages all marketing activities. The combined efforts of Charles and William have quickly afforded C.K. Remodeling & Design multiple recognition awards; along with the status of being known as one of the most reliable and trusted contracting service providers in the area.


What is the mission and strategy of C.K. Remodeling & Design?

The mission of C.K. Remodeling & Design is to sustain profitable growth by providing value-added remodeling and handyman services to customers at fair and market-competitive prices. We will achieve this mission through our actions; which will demonstrate trust, expert knowledge and skill of trade, uncompromising integrity, credibility, and lasting relationships with consumers, sub-contractors, and suppliers. Success will be measured by new and existing customers choosing us over the competitor because of their belief in our ability to meet or exceed their expectations of craftsmanship, expertise, price, and service. Integrity has no room for error, so you can count on us to conduct business honestly. Likewise, we strive for our craftsmanship and design to add value to both your home and the broader community of which it resides.


What are your most common types of jobs?

Larger projects typically entail the complete remodel of basements, bathrooms, kitchens, or laundry areas. However, we also build a lot of decks and fences when the weather permits. Smaller projects tend to range from minor repairs of electrical outlets and switches, to the installation or replacement of ceiling fans and interior doors. We've fulfilled many requests over the years, so our list of remodeling and handyman services continues to grow.

We are extremely respectful of your personal belongings and highly courteous toward your pets (along with their safety). We finish all projects we start and never request payment for labor until the work has been completed to your satisfaction.

How much will my project cost?

Previous experience has proven that it's difficult to commit to just one standard price for any project; primarily because all customers have different sizes and types of homes, varying tastes when it comes to fixtures and finishes, and budgets. That's why it's important for us to visually inspect the work area of the project and also learn more about your wish list before throwing out prices. After your free consultation, we will provide you with an accurate and competitive estimate. Unless we run into an unexpected electrical, plumbing, or structural issue during the course of the project, we'll be right on target with the original price quoted.


Why don't you charge for project consultations and estimates? Are they really free?

Yes, absolutely free! We feel that taking the time to look at a project and provide an estimate should not be passed along to the customer. All consultations and estimates are free of charge and are never reintroduced or hidden into the price of the actual project. By offering this benefit in good faith, we hope the customer will consider us in the future for other projects; or by referring us to others. Bottom line, repeat customers and referrals are much more profitable than inquiry fees.
